Step 2: Rules & Regulations

FIRST PRIZE $300 CASH
SECOND PRIZE $200 CASH

In the event of insufficient participation, your contact person will be notified that the event has been cancelled. At the CBA Executive Board’s discretion, registered bands may be invited to play for a period of time between 3pm and 7pm on Saturday, July 15, 2017.

As of July 15, 2017 all band members must be between the ages of 12 and 25. Photo ID may be required as proof of age.

Each band member under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian signature on all applicable registration material in order to participate.

Stage and sound equipment will be provided by the Countryside Business Association and KC Audio. Band members must bring their own instruments.

Drugs, alcohol, and tobacco are not permitted in the park during the event.

Band name, lyrics, attire, props, and gestures must not contain or depict any of the following: violent imagery, derogatory remarks based on ethnicity, gender, race, sexual orientation, or disability, vulgar or objectionable language, references to drugs, alcohol, or other forms of substance abuse.

Band members should not incite inappropriate behavior in the audience (i.e. moshing, crowd surfing, etc.), take part in such behaviors themselves, or act in a disrespectful manner toward other bands competing.

Each band chosen to compete in the Battle of the Bands on July 18 will have a pre-determined (to be determined based on number of bands participating) number of minutes to perform. When a band is finished performing, they are expected to leave the stage in a timely fashion to allow the next band to set up.

Failure to comply with any of the above regulations will result in immediate disqualification of the offending band. All judges’ decisions, including—but not limited to— compliance with contest regulations and selection of bands to compete, are FINAL.
